Quarterly Training Report

Jan 1 - Mar. 31 2003

State Certified Training:

Steve Smith completed ICS training. Awaiting copy of certificate.

Team Training:

Completed first Call-out Qualified Training - 8 hour class. Six members and Terry Davis of VBSAR completed the class: Mike & Cindy Andrews, Nichole Ange, Laurie Swain, Larry Livermore, and Temple Lee . Four other members completed half of the class and will complete the class at a later date. Thanks to Jimmy Coots, Wayne Lee, Bob & Nancy Hartman, Mike & Pam Sweeney, Bill Penfield for helping out. Certificates are being prepared for those members.

Monthly Training:

January training was in search management, taught by Steve Smith, Bob & Nancy Hartman. 19 members attended.

February training was in equipment training, taught by Dick Bittner, Karl Steudl and Marcus Lemasters. 15 members attended.

March training was a joint exercise with Blue Ridge Mtn. Rescue Group. No report of TOVSAR members attending.

So far this year 29 members have attended at least one training session (more than all of 2002!)

EVOC training is still not scheduled in our area.

Bloodhounds continue to train about 3 weekends out of every month.

Signcutters may be practicing on their own, but I have not received a report on this.
